Do you like saving money? It doesn’t matter what you say — saving money is one of the most exciting things you can do (at least in New Jersey)! I thought I would start by sharing some of my timeless coupon tips with all of you beginners out there. You will be surprised how strategic cutting coupons can get — just ask Coupon Code Mama!

#1 – Find Coupon Codes Online 

Yes, the traditional way to “coupon” is to cut paper coupons out of the newspaper or magazines. I am honest when I say that I don’t believe this is the most effective way to coupon anymore. I think it is far faster to find coupon codes online – not to mention coupon codes tend to offer more value. There are a ton of website on the internet today that allow people to share their coupon codes with the rest of the world. These are great sites because you can find coupon codes for almost any online store on the internet. You can also print out coupons to use them in traditional brick and mortar stores!

#2 – Share and Trade Coupons 

Sharing is caring and that’s also true when it comes to coupons. Good coupons and coupon codes can sometimes be hard to find and you don’t want to miss out on saving money. Contact your friends and family and convince them to start collecting and using coupons. Once everyone has a decent stock of paper coupons and/or online coupon codes, plan a lunch or a dinner where everyone can swap coupons for others. This is great way to increase the amount of money you save on your next shopping trip!

#3 – Build a Coupon Binder

Couponing is only successful when it is done in an organized way. So many people just think they can pull out their pile of coupons at the grocery store register and save loads of money. This is simply not the case. You have to organize and plan accordingly in order to make your coupons valuable. Get a three ring binder and a package of plastic “baseball card holder” inserts. You can even put dividers in between the plastic pages and organize your coupons in an alphabetical fashion or by coupon type. Find a method that fits your needs and go with it!
